Antigravity A1 World’s First 8K 360° Drone Coming in 2026

The drone industry is about to witness a major leap forward with the arrival of the Antigravity A1, an innovative aerial platform designed from the ground up for 8K 360-degree video capture. Scheduled for a global release in January 2026, the A1 aims to redefine how pilots experience flight and how creators capture the skies.

Developed by Antigravity, a brand incubated by Insta360 and partners, the A1 is the first drone to integrate a true dual-lens 360 camera into its body —eliminating the need for bulky attachments. One lens sits on top and the other underneath the aircraft, giving it a complete spherical view. Advanced image stitching removes the drone from the final footage entirely, creating the striking “invisible drone” effect.

A Different Way to Fly

Unlike traditional drones that rely on gimbal-mounted wide-angle cameras, the A1 records everything in every direction. This allows pilots to choose their perfect shot later during editing, ensuring no moment is missed. Footage can be reframed into multiple angles without quality loss, enabling creative effects such as Tiny Planet views or smooth horizon rolls — tools that will appeal to both hobbyists and professional filmmakers.

The A1 pairs with Vision goggles for immersive live viewing and a Grip controller for point-to-fly navigation. Instead of joysticks, users steer by simply pointing the controller, while head tracking lets them look around independently of the drone’s flight path. This separation of steering and viewing makes flying feel more like being in the air yourself.

Lightweight and Regulation-Friendly

Weighing just 249 grams, the A1 falls below registration thresholds in many countries for non-commercial use, making it accessible for beginners and travelers alike. Despite its lightweight build, the drone includes obstacle avoidance sensors on the front and bottom to enhance safety.

A standout safety feature is payload detection, which automatically lands the drone if it senses an unsafe load. This proactive measure addresses growing concerns about drones being misused for harmful purposes.

Designed for Creators on the Move

With its compact size and quick setup, the A1 is built for spontaneous adventures. Every flight captures a full 360° view, leaving creators free to focus on storytelling rather than camera angles. Antigravity is even inviting global users to test pre-production units through a co-creation program, offering a $20,000 reward pool for standout contributions.

Looking Ahead

While pricing, flight time, and wind resistance ratings remain under wraps, the A1’s combination of immersive viewing, simple controls, and built-in 8K 360 capture positions it as a category-defining drone. As BC Nie, Head of Marketing at Antigravity, puts it:

“A1 is the first step in reimagining flight as something anyone can enjoy — safe, intuitive, expressive, and endlessly creative.”

With competition in the consumer drone space heating up, the Antigravity A1 could set a new benchmark for integrated aerial imaging when it takes off in early 2026.
