I repeat the same route but have the Mini 5 Pro approach from the front this time. As I walk, I observe its handling of branches and obstacles. The drone is doing well overall, but once again, the thin branches pose a problem. These delicate twigs with small leaves are difficult for the drone’s sensors to detect, causing minor collisions.

Despite this, the Mini 5 Pro remains impressive in its handling. As it flies higher to avoid obstacles, it continues to track me and adapt to the situation. Even when the drone makes contact with some obstacles, it quickly recovers and continues tracking with minimal disruption.

Handling Obstacle-Dense Areas

To push the drone further, I decide to test it in an even more challenging area. As expected, the Mini 5 Pro faces some difficulty with the thinner branches, but it still performs admirably overall. If you’re considering using the drone for activities like mountain biking in dense environments, keep in mind that smaller branches may pose a risk.

In areas where there are fewer small branches and more significant obstacles, the Mini 5 Pro excels, maintaining stable tracking and flight paths. The intelligent obstacle avoidance system allows it to plan ahead, avoiding trees and other hazards while keeping me in focus.

Cycling Mode: Testing Tracking in Motion

Curious to see how the Mini 5 Pro handles fast-moving subjects, I switch to the cycling mode. Although I’m not actually cycling, I’m using a scooter, and this should still provide a useful test. In cycling mode, the drone seems to adjust its tracking behavior to follow faster movements while maintaining a stable and unique perspective.

The Mini 5 Pro keeps up with my scooter effortlessly, even when navigating around poles and other obstacles. The ability to track at a low altitude without losing me in the frame is especially impressive.
