DJI Confirms Lito Drone Launch for April 23, May Be the Last One for US Market

DJI has officially announced the launch of its new Lito drone, set to be revealed on April 23, 2026, at 12 PM GMT. The company posted a teaser on April 14 via its official @DJIGlobal account on X, with the tagline “Just Fly” and hashtags #DJILito, #DJILitoX1, and #DJILito1. The teaser image shows a combination lock cycling through the phrases “NEW DRONE” and “LITO FLIP,” though no specs, pricing, or product images have been officially shared beyond this.

Two Models Expected

Based on FCC filings from late 2025 and consistent leak reports, two variants are anticipated: the Lito 1 and the Lito X1. Both models were cleared through the FCC before the December 22, 2025 import restriction deadline, which means they are grandfathered into the US market and can legally be sold there.

The Lito 1 is expected to target the entry-level sub-250g segment, reportedly carrying around 22GB of internal storage and priced near $330. The Lito X1 is rumored to feature roughly 42GB of storage at around $759, placing it closer to DJI’s Mini Pro tier.

Both drones are said to offer approximately 30 minutes of flight time on standard batteries, with an optional larger battery extending that to around 50 minutes while pushing the weight above the 250g threshold. Both models have also reportedly appeared inside the DJI RC 2 controller’s software as supported aircraft.

Leaked render-quality images from leaker Igor Bogdanov show compact foldable quadcopters with a front-mounted camera gimbal, orange-tipped propellers, and visible obstacle sensing hardware. Rumored features also include on-board video storage and possibly LiDAR obstacle avoidance on the higher-end X1 model.

Possibly the Last DJI Drone for the US

The launch carries significant weight for American consumers. DJI has faced a ban on importing and selling drones in the United States since December 2025, following the FCC placing Chinese drone manufacturers on its “Covered List” of banned devices. DJI sued the FCC in February 2026, arguing the agency exceeded its authority, but legal proceedings are still ongoing.

Because the Lito 1 and Lito X1 received FCC approval before the December 22 cutoff, they are expected to be available for sale in the US. However, any future DJI drone releases would require passing rigorous cyber and hardware assessments to be cleared, making the Lito potentially the last new DJI product line available in the US for the foreseeable future.

A Second Announcement Is Also Coming

Alongside the drone teaser, DJI has dropped a second teaser titled “More than Sound,” featuring a graphic resembling rounded squares similar in shape to the DJI Mic or Mic Mini devices. A separate launch date is expected for this audio product, though DJI has not officially confirmed what it is. Given the visual similarities to DJI’s existing microphone lineup, many expect it to be a new addition to the Mic series.

The full Lito drone reveal is scheduled for April 23, 2026.
