DJI Mavic 4 Pro Listed in FCC Database; Launch Expected Soon

It may be time to stop waiting! DJI Mavic 4 Pro has officially popped up in the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) database. And that means the launch of this highly anticipated flagship drone could be just around the corner. Since the filings outline certain impressive upgrades and game-changing features, the drone community is positively charged up.

According to the FCC files, two variants of the Mavic 4 Pro have been identified: L3A and L3B. It is still unclear what separates the two, but what has become clear is that the drone is receiving a dramatic boost in battery capacity. This drone will be equipped with a 95.3Wh battery with 14.32V and 6654mAh, which is significantly more efficient compared to the Mavic 3, which has 90.4Wh and 5870mAh. Additional flight hours, higher mission efficiency for those demanding moments, or longer tasks.

What’s New and Exciting?

The Mavic 4 Pro is shaping up to be a powerhouse, building on the strengths of its predecessor while introducing some cutting-edge tech. Here’s what we’ve gathered so far, based on leaked details and filings from the FCC database and industry insiders like OsitaLV:

Dual-display support for live video and mapping, giving you more control and situational awareness.

RTK functionality for ultra-precise positioning—perfect for mapping and surveying pros.

– A Cine Premium Edition with a whopping 2TB SSD for handling high-resolution footage like a champ.

– An upgraded camera with 14 stops of dynamic range, ensuring breathtaking detail in every shot.

Triple-eye visual positioning for extra stability and safety in tricky conditions.

– A redesigned gimbal with an impressive tilt range of -90° to +80°, opening up creative possibilities.

Whether you’re a filmmaker, a surveyor, or just someone who loves pushing a drone to its limits, these features are bound to impress.

When Can We Expect It?

If history is any indicator, DJI tends to release new products within weeks of FCC filings going public. That means the Mavic 4 Pro could land before the end of 2024 or in early 2025—perfect timing for holiday shoppers or those kicking off new-year projects.

There’s also talk that DJI might be speeding up this launch to get ahead of any potential regulatory challenges in the US that could affect pricing or availability. Either way, the clock is ticking, and it looks like we won’t have to wait too long.

A Lesson Learned

The Mavic 4 Pro’s launch comes with high expectations, especially after what happened with the Mavic 3. While the Mavic 3 introduced incredible features like its dual-camera system and Hasselblad collaboration, early buyers were disappointed when several promised features weren’t available at launch. It took months of firmware updates to deliver on those promises, leaving many feeling like they bought an unfinished product.

This time around, DJI seems determined to get it right, delivering a fully polished drone on day one. If they pull it off, it could go a long way in rebuilding trust and strengthening their reputation in a fiercely competitive market.

Why This Matters?

The Mavic 4 Pro is more than just another drone—it’s a statement. DJI is clearly aiming to push the boundaries of what’s possible in aerial technology, and this release has the potential to set a new standard. Whether you’re a filmmaker chasing the perfect shot, a surveyor mapping out precision details, or just someone who loves the thrill of flight, the Mavic 4 Pro promises to deliver.

With the launch likely just weeks away, all eyes are on DJI. One thing’s for sure: this drone is going to make waves.
