One of the standout features of the Potensic Atom 2 is its brand-new controller, which feels significantly better than its predecessor. The build quality is sturdier and more premium, making it feel more durable. It now features improved grips on the sides for better handling and a dedicated slot for the cable, ensuring a seamless connection. Additionally, the inclusion of customizable buttons allows for enhanced user control. The range has also been increased from 6km on the original Atom to an impressive 10km on the Atom 2, making long-distance flights more reliable.
Enhanced Video Transmission
The live video feed to your phone has seen a major upgrade:
- Original Atom: 720p at 24fps
- Atom 2: 1080p at 30fps
This is a huge improvement, providing a clearer and smoother video feed.
Design and Camera Upgrades
Visually, the Atom 2 closely resembles the original Atom. However, while there are no drastic exterior changes, the camera has received significant upgrades. The new 1/2-inch sensor replaces the original 1/1.3-inch sensor, offering improved image quality and detail. With an upgraded f/1.8 aperture compared to the original f/2.2, the Atom 2 performs better in low-light conditions, capturing brighter and clearer shots.
The biggest leap comes from its 48MP sensor, a major upgrade from the original 12MP sensor, enabling higher-resolution photos and more detail in every shot. These enhancements make the Atom 2 a compelling choice for those looking for better photography and videography capabilities in a compact drone.

Additionally, users who already own a high-end drone but need a smaller, more portable alternative will find the Atom 2 to be a great secondary drone.
Final Thoughts
